Zombies & Nightmares and Hauntings, Oh My!

I've always had an affinity for the creativity of the Nightmare on Elm Street series (original Englund continuity, though the PD/Haley reboot was passable). I'm also rather fond of most things zombie. Although I love mostly big-budget gems like zombieland, Dawn of the Dead (reboot), Resident Evil (the first couple were probably the best), I also have a soft spot for ZomComs like Shaun of the Dead, Fido, Doghouse, and a few lower-budget zombie flicks like Last of the Living, Zombies of Mass Destruction, and such. Not a big fan of the micro-budget flicks, though. also rather a fan of some of the more well-done Haunted house movies like Insidious (actually, it's kind of tough to think of many REALLY well-done ones). Ohh, and I also have a recent affinity for the collected works of HP Lovecraft and the Cthulhu Mythos (though, I haven't read enough yet to know whether Derlethian tales are as bad and unfaithful to the original materials as others have claimed; if so, then perhaps I prefer Yog-Sothothery more so than the Cthulhu Mythos and yep, I'm a geek through and through).
